Just a short update.

With regards to Chalet, we're dealing with a bit of a problem.

16th to 18th Nov 09 was unsuitable because Prom for Sec4/5s are on the 20th Nov.
More over, someone stranger took the timeslot already.

Nov 30th to Dec 2nd was suitable because there's Unity Cup held on that week and I'm sure everyone would be drained.

Now the only alternative is to push it to December 09.

Really apologise sincerely if this delay sort of clashes with any of your plans or family trips.

Meanwhile we're trying to source for other Chalets that are of cheaper rates.
$500 per night is a little too much to take.

Thanks babes for being understanding and patient!

Anyway I know this is really late, but hope everything was smooth sailing for those who have had their N Levels!

Lastly, Selamat Hari Raya to Siti H, Wanah, Riana, Nana, Huda and all graduated seniors!

Hellohello . It's been 2 weeks the blog's dead . Haha . But nevermind , SuperWanah is here to rescue ! Haha . LOL . Okay so I would post on the September trainings & maybe Chalet . Based on the information of what Janice told me , this are the information for holiday trainings .

September Training :

Wednesday

Time : 1 - 4 PM .

Thursday & Friday

Time : 12 - 3 PM .

There may be friendly on Friday , but not Ngee Ann . If no friendly , training will resume as pernormal .

For Chalet , the date is 17 - 19 November 2009 . Please bring $10 on Monday for Chalet & would be meeting somewhere for Janice to collect the money . She would remind all of you again via SMS .

B Division :
Entering this team for the first time , seeing all of you make me scared since all of you are seniors & elder than me . But after knowing all of you , I started to open up & talked to some of you girls . It was fun . Throughout the C Division West Zone & Nationals , all of you have supported us through thick or thin . All of you give us faith & make us believe in ourselves & never to give up no matter what happen . To the Sec 4's & 5's who are taking their O or N levels this year , I'm gonna miss you babes damn lots when you graduate this year . You have inspire me . & to our dearest Captain XF , thank you for motivating us through . Though you have to study for your Prelims & O's , you still spend some of time with us , making sure we are bonded . To Nana , well I didn't talk to you that much 'cause you seems fierce , hehe . But really I appreciate your support for us & stay chio always , haha ! Love you all damn lots , XOXO !

My dearest babes ! Coungrats on getting 2nd IN SINGAPORE ! Finals was the best man , it was really a memorable one for me . We shared laughter & tears together ...

Thank you very much for being such a great senior , team-mate , role model , friend & sister to the Sec 1's . Sorry to give all of you a hard time when we're not bonded together . Your scoldings on court make me wake up & to realise my mistakes . Sorry for showing my horrible attitude to all of you ... Sorry if I made any of you feel offended because of me . For everything I had done wrong in the past , I apologise . But deep in my heart , I love every single one of you & always appreaciate the care which you gave to the Sec 1's & the whole USSBBG . Thank you for teaching is to go insane like you girls , haha .

I can see that we are more bonded & seems more crazier . Haha . You all really make an effort to have all the Sec 1's , whether school team or not , to sit in one table during recess & to have fun with each other company :D To Daphne & Hwee Shan , thank you for coming down on court & supporting us . You both really help us so much . You all comfort us when we are in tears or sadness . I really appreaciate both of your company . To Sec 1's , let's do our best to bring up Team C Division 2010 ! My Dedication To the C Division 2009

Hey babes, this is going to be a long post ahead.
It's the expression of my deepest appreciation to you guys.

A strike off the title of "Defending Champions".
A step away from what we've been dreaming for.
It was so close but it slipped off.

It is painful, it is wasted, yes yes yes it is.
BUT, right now, no matter with victory or a fall, you girls went through it together.

The game of basketball is not just about winning.
Even if you're guaranteed all the good players in the world, to win, it takes more than that.
Every team has it's own flaws and strengths.

In USSBBG, we all started out as strangers.
It is always a mixture of girls from different schools.
Some with basketball background while some with none.

I asked the Secondary Ones this year, "Did you join Unity Basketball Team out of fame or passion?".
Some owned up it was fame and I really appreciate the honesty.
The courage is admirable.

Your journey started off rough and everyone was at the brink of giving up on this team.
You were given two big blows to deal with.
Such a young team and some with no experience of how it's like.
I wanted to ask, "Who ever regretted joining this team?".

After training on one of the days, I held the Sec Ones back for a talk.

"Who ever thought of quitting or giving up on this team?", all hands raised.

"Who is sick and tired of what's happening and feels that training is such a drag?", all hands raised.

"Now, who thinks that this team still has hope?", all hands raised.

"Who still loves this team?", all hands raised.

What does that show girls?
Despite all these nonsense you have to deal with, the love in each and everyone is still stronger.
Right after that talk, we all had a date out to Pizza Hut the following night.
That was a session to clarify all the misunderstandings and a session to bond.

We had a meal and did some 'ice-breaking' games.
After dinner, we proceeded to CCK Park.
Many confessions were made and I was glad to see everyone opening up.

On another training day, I held the Secondary Twos back.
We talked till the door auntie had to chase us away.
Tears were shed and some told me that they felt as if they'd failed the team.
I knew it was hard for you girls to be given such challenges but you chose not to give up.

For the start of this year, it was CCA selection day.
I admit that because of some bad first impressions, I judged some of you girls.
However, you girls proved me wrong and I love you girls just as much.

The journey you girls had was tough.
Eventually, you girls made it and made it together as a whole, a team.

Through this journey with you girls, I learnt a lot.
You were able to understand, compromise and love each other.
That's why you're different.

Though you didn't achieve what we all aimed for, it's fine girls.
We've made a deal on 6th August 2009, I want to see you girls in the finals.

The spirit you girls displayed was amazing.
Even though some didn't get the chance to get on court, you still cheered nonstop for the team.
That scene melted my heart.
The legendary USSBBG with the eagle's spirit.

Great game girls, great game. (:
If getting second can exchange such bonds with each other, it's worth it.

Thanks for believing in this team and never giving it up.
I can nag at you girls, remind you girls, bring you girls together but never can I force you girls to love each other genuinely.
It's never possible without the part from each and everyone of you.

You have fulfilled one of my dream.
The journey doesn't end here, you still got to get that gold for Jiao Lian/teachers/friends/families/eachother/me and lastly, yourself.

It's my graduating year and I hate to leave.
Thanks for making it a successful one.

We are fighters, not quitters.
The difference between the two types is something worth fighting for.
Fighters have a goal in mind and expectations to uphold while

You can leave a game defeated and that's what 99% of the teams experience.
But for that 1%, they, too, left with defeat in their minds and satisfaction in their hearts.

So long as you girls have performed your best on court, you are the winners in yourself.

Ok, these are the photos taken on wednesday.

Our first match was a great success though we did make quite a lot of mistakes on the first two quarters. But everyone did made an effort and there's also a great improvement too.

Tomorrow is our second battle, we have to win this to confirm that we have made it to the quarter final and that's a step closer to what we want to get. All the best, girls. Don't be afraid anymore alright? The more you are afraid, the more mistakes you will make.

One last thing, as all our towels are the same and we may mix it up, you may put a mark on the ikea label to make sure it's yours. If not you may lose your towel like someone on wednesday huh! hahaha

June Holiday Training

Hey girls, hope this June Holiday's training is a fruitful one.

Been to one of the many training you girls have had, surely there's improvement made.

It's sure hectic to be training on all weekdays with only one resting day.

I'll come down when I'm free but I can't guarantee it'll be frequent.

All the seniors misses you babes damn loads!

Your team towel is ready and it's all with me.

However, due to the increase in price, which is really ridiculous, I guess we shan't have any embroideries unless it's within our budget. I will distribute the towels when School Reopens.

Please note that Training will be cancelled this week due to some hooha about a first case of H1N1 in our school. Please do not be alarmed as it has yet been confirmed. Drink lots of water and be clean at all times.

I can see the budding potentials in the Sec 1s and you're building up your confidence!

As for the Sec 2s I'm soooooooo glad to see the fierce side of you girls, be sure to keep it up alright!

Sec 3s who returned from the OBS Camp I'm sure it was a great learning experience. Be sure to rest really well and pamper yourself before returning to the training mood! I look forward to see the progress made in you girls yeah.

Lastly the Sec4s and 5s, all the best for intensive mugging sessions and preparation for our final examinations. I may be organising some kinda stress relieving activities before taking our prelims, do flood me with some suggestions yeah. I'm thinking of Escape Theme Park or something crazy that yall can think of.

To all my dearest girls please take very good care of yourself. As all of you are aware that the outbreak of H1N1 virus is no kidding matter, we shan't let down our guards or be complacent about anything and everything.

Occasionally take a break and do some jogging or sports in order to maintain the fitness level we've once had. Enjoy this last week of holiday and see yall around in school next week!

Both C and B Division won.

C division
Start to communicate more with each other.
Zonals is starting really soon for you guys.
It's not your fault to have reach at that time.
Next time round if this is to repeat, stop blaming anyone because what's done can't be undone.
The more you complain, the more disgruntled you are.
Let it go, take a chill pill and focus on what is more important.

Great display of team spirit, I'm very satisfied.
Very proud of you girls to have sat together as a TEAM rather than scattering all around.
Keep it up babes!

B division
Great defence by everyone.
Even JiaoLian complimented that our defence today is good, a lot of movements and covering of spaces for each other.
I can see a lot of double team and rebounds.
That's the way USSBBG!
Our stamina is improving, sure glad that all the physical trainings previously paid off!

Our team is really bonding more and working together with each other.
Sacrificing our precious time just to discuss about our play and how to play even better.
Tell me how many people will be willing to do that?
That's what makes us unique, that's what differentiate us from the rest.
Communication is rolling babes!

You all have the option to slack around and rest after your match.
You guys stayed together, watch the Bdiv match and cheered for us.
It's a learning experience for you all too, to know what it's like in the Bdivision.

Wanah, Siti H: Hey babes, you two are too quiet in the team! Don't isolate
yourself just cause the rest might be speaking chinese most of the time. Voice
out and tell them! Only by communicating more then you'll improve. Wanah good
job in bonding and thanking your teammates online, have to do it in person too
yeah. I'm sure you two won't disappoint me and open really soon alright!

The rest of the Cdiv: Don't be disheartened if you didn't manage to get
into the team. What's most important is that you never give up hope and continue
to improve. I, myself, I didn't get into team when I was Sec1. So I'll ask you,
did I give up? Should you give up? If I didn't, what makes you have a good
enough reason to tell yourself to give up? You are going to be the seniors of
the upcoming batch in 2010. Continue to strive hard and the team will always be

Dunman Sec is a strong team we can't deny.
The Cdivision lack of Team Spirit, there was no fighting spirit. However the 3rd quarter was a tight defence put up.

The Bdivision lost, basically everyone was not intact for the day along with a strong opponent.

Film making and Training.

Was informed that we're involved in some school mini film project.
Script writer involved our very own RAMONA WONG!
Basically everyone enjoyed the laughters and awkwardness.

Jiaolian was being superbly adorable making his inspirational speeches.

Training was not as intense as expected.
After the training, Nana our vice captain talked to the sec2s on some issues.

Talked to the Sec1s based on some problems.

I am sure glad and am confidently sure that each and everyone of us are in joy of the final clearing of whatever misunderstandings between each other.

It's through this, we learn to grow, we learn to compromise and give in.

I'm very proud of each and everyone of you girls that you're willing to give in, swallow your pride and sincerely apologise to one another. That's what deserves our respect.

For the sec1s, remember what you've promised me. I'm really putting my hopes on yall that you will really listen to what I've said and start opening up. I have faith in each and everyone of you guys. I don't like to reprimand anyone neither do I want to. I really hope I won't face another disappointment. At least I'm pretty sure that you guys are bonded right now. Now it's time to move one more step and start bonding with your Sec2 seniors. If you want a division just like the Bdiv, as fun as loud as crazy as the Bdiv, you have got to play your part too.

On 5th March 2009, we sat down together as a team, reviving memories.
In that very letter, our eyes gave in. We all teared.
" Win together, Lose together, Cry together. "

2years ago, the song Hero by Mariah Carey remain in our hearts.
This year, a step forward. If we hold on together cover by Jordin Sparks refreshed our hearts.

Hand in hand we all sat down and made a wish.
May our wishes be blessed.

This was one of the emotional times we've had.

No matter how others try to bring us down, no matter how hurtful words can be.
We'll stick together and overcome it.
It's okay to get 3rd because deep down in us and only us, we know that it's not to our limit.
We can do better and we will.

Remember what Mr Boh had commented?
It's not easy to change from a losing start to a winning end.
Our team spirit is strong, it's there.
And we have to remember this feeling, it is this feeling that makes a difference.
We'll carry this feeling with us all the way to nationals.

Mr Lau have been supportive towards us.
Even from a person with no basketball background can see our obvious mistakes.

For the past two matches, we've been quite off form.
It was our spirits that kept us going.

Brief summary regarding yesterday's Semi Finals against NYGH.

2years back at that very bench, that very spot, we achieved victory.

2years back we were mentally unaware and unprepared of what we were about to face.

2years back we went up to that court and surrendered our souls to the ball, baskets and panels.

That was 2 years back.

2years later we were back at the same court, landing ourselves in the exact same spot.

Semi finals.

Perhaps the lost before our battle gave us a wake up call.

This time round we lost to our own strength. Mentality.

Nervousness is hard to overcome, its hard to swallow.

Yesterday, we fought a battle worth to be kept in our memories.

Who says only good things come with good memories?

We didn't fight a losing battle.

We were struggling to find ourselves on court.

We were overwhelmed but that's okay.

It's a good thing in a way.

We cried our sorrows and it will remain at that very spot we gathered.

Although we lost the match, I know we won several things.

Determination, Team spirit, forgiveness and sacrifices.

That is the key ingredients to our strong bond.

Hey babes,
Review on today's match.

Overall teamwork was better than yesterday's.
Our foulshot attempt-in was definitely better than yesterday's.
We had lesser turn-overs and our 3-point shooters gotten their momentum!
Overall performance for today is good but we cannot stop here!

We must takenote not to care about the whistle and continue playing till the referee run up to us and beep nonstop. It can be quite irritating when we just don't know the whistle is meant for which court because it all sounds the same. Lishan's suggestion was funny, to have different pitch tones of whistles like Do Re Mi to differentiate. Cool.

So far our performance in Yuying Cup is positive and we should continue to aim for better results.

It's regarding today's training.

First I'm sorry girls that I was feeling queasy so I didn't train with yall.
We all can see that Coach was being hot tempered today yeah.
It really might be hurtful and demoralising the way he reprimand/shout/yell/scream/scold etcetc.
Whatever it may be, we can't stop coach from what he wants to say.
The only way we can make each other feel better is by assuring one another that it's alright!
We've made a mistake, we all take this in together and we'll all improve together!

Starting of the training everyone was wishing JiaoLian a Happy Birthday.

USS vs RGS
both divisions won.
Good Game girls, however, their strong main player is not in singapore so that's not their real standard. But still, good game yeah.

USS vs SAS(Singapore American School)
Won 57 to 55.
It was a big margin before though however at the last few minutes they caught up real fast!

Both teams were tough and this is only the preparations for our beginning of the journey.
we can make it USSBBG!

Sorry girls that I led you the wrong way to SAS.
Cool thing is we even got lost in SAS, it's freaking cool.
High School Middle School, Babes and Hunks.

Failing will be common when it comes to Sec3.
Hold on to it, endure it just like how we endured our physical trainings and eventually you will find yourself breathing in Sec3 Maniac Life.

With concerns to blog rants of our opponent.
I am very offended and unhappy with only 1 of them.
Honestly, I was really thankful to the rest of the opponents that everyone thought it was a good game played although it was really a rough one.
However, it disappointed me to have insults splashing on my junior.

It is okay if you have any grudges on our team as a whole.
But it is however not okay if you're just countering at one person.

This particular person that you have brought her so low is my junior.
As a senior or even as a teammate, to have someone insulting them is something hard to take and accept. You can't expect us to keep quiet and just let you tarnish her reputation right?

As her teammates, I'm sure there'll be some commotion right here over at related blogs.
Seriously, I won't be surprised because it's an expected reaction.

If you wish to embark any unhappiness, feel free to do so at our team tagboard. Refrain from using any vulgarities please because I wouldn't say that's very sightly.

If you're against her, that's fine but it is really absurd if you mention about her parents.
How would you feel if you were the one being attacked at by all these crude comments?

She is not a bench player. If that's a point you want to point out to make it a " A bench player have no rights to speak " kind of rule then I would say that doesn't exist in Team Unity. Each individual is taken as an equal teammate. So what if someone is a bench player? It's really low of you to have mentioned that, she is a human she have her rights so do you.

If you are her senior, you have the utmost rights to lecture her. But if you are just someone who hold grudges against her, stop trying to find each and every excuses to portray that she's sucha degraded person.

To you, she can be whatever a whore is like. Keep that to yourself. You don't need to tell the whole world your comments about a particular person just because you're unhappy with them. A war started out small.

I would respect you if you have pointed out both strengths and weaknesses of both teams.
I personally respect your fellow teammates but for you, you have just tarnished your own image.

Stop making any assumptions that are untrue. I do not want to even seek problem with you because I think it should be settled properly without jeopardising each other.

Note to opponent:
I will really appreciate it if this can be settled in a proper manner without blaming on each other. I wanted to convince my team to let bygones be bygones but this has really gone too far. It's way over the limit. I'm sure you guys wouldn't want your own beloved teammate to be shot at with hurtful remarks and I respect of those who wants to defend on her. Defending your teammates means you love them, you care for them. It's the basic job to do. I will definitely clear this post if requested under one condition: I don't need apologies, I only want that blog post to be taken down too. Really hope that this can be settled in ease and peace.

BEIJING TRAINING TOUR 2008
further brief about the Items to bring.

T-Shirts: try to bring all warm-up tees.

Shoes: try not to wear a brand new pair of shoes because it will turn out disastrous.

Sandals/Slippers: make sure it's waterproof because you'll need to wear it while you shower.

Cap: Buy a beanie! Because your hair might get oily and stuff while contacting too much with the polluted air.

Heat Pack: This is like a 'Hot Bag' that is used when you're sleeping at night to keep you warm at any parts of your body where you might feel cold.

Haversack: DO NOT bring shoulderbag/handbag. Reason being pickpockets are very skillful there and they aim on tourists. When you're carrying sling back with a zip try to put it infront of you because you never know what they're able to do.

Medication: This is the most important item! It will be devastatingly cold at Bei Jing to an extent that it MIGHT snow but the possibility is very low.

Stationery: Keep a pen with you while you board the plane as you'll need to fill in some particulars on the plane.

Crying is okay, it's a form of releasing out frustration and unhappiness!
I have felt that before, it's no use of calling you to not blame yourself,
cause it's not what you can control! Time after time i've been rather disgrunted on myself.
Why did I deproved so much? I wasn't like that before, I guess all the good things
have to come to an end. However, I won't give up improving!

Sometimes I question myself, did I really improved?
Why must i have injuries?
Why must i commit mistakes?
Why can't i run faster, longer?
Why can't i jump higher?
Constantly we've been busy looking at what we're unsatisfied with,
we tend to neglect our positive points!
I have read some books recently ( I AM NOT A NERD! )
we need to balance both negative and positive thinkings.
And it really did worked!
Because recently I faced some problems of my own,
I used that skill to cope with it and I'm really feeling stronger mentally.

I'm like a nagging machine here -.-

We have to understand that the flaws in us is not permanent,
sometimes we can be on-off form.
It's okay to commit mistakes, it's okay to have commit it again but
it's never okay if you neglect it.
There's no trying in success, only when you do it you will gain it.
Let's cry it out we'll feel better (:
It's natural to cry over unsatisfied situation, but we can't cling on to it,
we MUST find a way to overcome it yeah (:

- Dress code: Helpers ( Warm Up Tee )
Players ( School Dark Jersey)

NOTES:
1) Participating Pri.Schools : Chua Chu Kang Primary & De La Salle
2) There will be a totoal of 3 matches to be conducted on the actual day.
the 3matches:
CCK VS DLS
USS VS CCK
USS VS DLS
(not in order!)
3) All sec2-3 students involved will be assigned a task on the actual day which will be
counted as their CIP
4) All sec1 bball girls will take part in the matches.
(Please display Sportsmanship when during the game)
5) Please be PUNCTUAL on that day with proper attire
7) Students who is not doing their duty will not be given CIP hours and must face consequences*
